Farm to Table Meals in The Woodlands
The story of our Farm to Table Meals Café and Food Shoppe
We, the owners, Tom and Rita Miller, started down this path as a way for Tom to have healthy meals as part of his alternative, cancer-treatment protocol. He is on a hybrid vegetarian diet and finds it difficult to eat at many restaurants due to not knowing what might be lurking in the food. We both believe that there are many others out there who have the same need or would just like to eat healthier, better quality food.
People have asked why the name Keepers of the Food? Where did the name come from? ”Keeper of the Food” is the English translation for the French culinary term, garde-manger (pronounced gärd-män-zhā). The term goes back hundreds of years and can mean various things but for us, it is all about a commitment to keeping wholesome the food we serve. It encompasses our passion to finding and maintaining the integrity of that food for the well-being of our customers. That is why our meals are prepared with organic and/or locally sourced ingredients. The food is free of GMOs, chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, or anything that changes the food as God intended.
We prepare our meals from fresh ingredients and while that may take a little longer and cost a little bit more, the end result is well worth it. Freshness is something that can be tasted in every meal we prepare.
While ensuring the ingredients in the meals are wholesome and fresh, having great tasting, mouth-watering recipes is also a must. Food plays a big part in our lives. Breaking daily bread, celebrating events with our families, or simply enjoying a meal with a friend are times where great tasting food is front and center.
So, in a nutshell, we are all about —
Keeping it wholesome.
Keeping it Fresh.
Keeping it flavorful.
